The conquest of American liquid gold

Buffalo Trace, whose origins date back to 1775, was bought in 1870 by Edmund H. Taylor, who gave it its first name, Old Fire Copper Distillery. After becoming the property of George T Stagg, it was rebuilt in 1883 following a fire. It was one of four distilleries authorized to produce a medicinal whiskey during prohibition. Renamed Ancient Age in 1969, it has been called Buffalo Trace since 1999. This Kentucky distillery produces a large number of different bourbons, of which the best known, Eagle Rare, Blanton’s or W.L. Weller, have been awarded many times.
